Election dates in India 2014

The general election will be held from April 7 to May 12 in nine phases, the Election Commission today (05-03-2014) announced. The votes will be counted on May 16.

First phase - 7th April, 2014
Second phase - 9th April, 2014
Third phase - 10th April, 2014
Fourth phase - 12th April, 2014
Fifth phase - 17th April, 2014 (Karnataka)
Sixth phase - 24th April, 2014
Seventh phase - 30th April, 2014
Eighth phase - 7th May, 2014
Ninth phase - 12th April, 2014

Results on 16th May 2014.



North region:

Haryana - April 10
Himachal Pradesh - May 7
Jammu and Kashmir - April 10, 17, 24, 30 and May 7
Punjab - April 30
